COMMAND LINE CHESS WITH MENTOR CHRIS

Before selecting this ticket be aware that the Python room should be considered an advanced room.

This is a 10-week progressive workshop. Each week will build upon the next. Your ticket is good for all 10 weeks.

Your child should be comfortable with the following concepts in any language:
  • variables
  • data types
  • for and while loops
  • conditionals
  • functions.

The module will be focused on creating a two player command-line implementation of chess. Topics covered will include:
  • Regular Expressions
  • Multidimensional Lists
  • Vertices
  • Inheritance

Before Sept 12, it would be great if your child had some basic understanding of the rules of chess. Here (link: http://www.chesskid.com/learn-how-to-play-chess.html) is a great resource for kids.
