Three more Dojos in November
There are 5 Saturdays in November, but we’ll be taking the last one off for Thanksgiving. So that means there are three more dojos left in November and you can get tickets for two of them RIGHT NOW.

So what’s up with Minecraft?
Long story short: We’re going to have a session on Nov 8 with the teen volunteer mentors to get some feedback on the different JavaScript-based modding options we’re evaluating. From that we’ll select one and begin mentor classes on November 15th. Minecraft Modding Mentors will need to commit to attending on Nov 15, 22, and Dec. 6 plus some independent work at home from Dec. 6 – Jan 10.
I need 1-2 more adults to volunteer as the adult “advisors,” but the “teachers” will be our teen volunteers. We have a few already and are looking to have a base of up to 6 teens who want to learn this first, be involved with lesson planning, and teach it to the other kids. We have 4 already. If you’re interested in being an advisor or teen mentor, mail Greg.
Things to keep in mind:
1: The class we offer next year will not be a “start any time” class, but instead a 6-10 week session.
2: Enrollment will be limited. Long-term Dojo members will get preference if interest exceeds capacity.
3: We will not offer loaners for the Minecraft class.
4: You will need a Windows, Mac, or Linux laptop that has the horsepower to run Minecraft and a Minecraft server, plus your own license for the game.
Next year’s calendar
We’ve planned a calendar of thirty-eight Saturday morning events for 2015 (off for 6 holidays/breaks, and an every-other-week schedule June-Aug). We have submitted it to Amazon to see which ones they’ll be able to host.
If you want to be involved in planning what we teach or what we do, please join our volunteer Google Group (and make sure you select the “All emails” or “daily digest” email option – no point in signing up if you’re not willing to participate).
