Tickets for March 28
On “sale” now. Get them here.
Tickets for Beginning Python Workshop
Like the Minecraft workshop, this will have a separate sign-up, but since the interest level was close to the capacity, there’s no lottery, just a regular sign-up for tickets… with a twist. These tickets will be good for the whole 4 weeks of the Python workshop, April 4-25. AND you can sign your child up to attend remotely, because Chris will be livestreaming his desktop with audio and taking questions via chat. The livestream is *highly* experimental, but if you don’t want to schlep over from the Eastside or you miss out on the in-person seats, maybe you’ll help us with this inaugural test of livestreaming.

Every good room deserves a reboot
If your child is in the Scratch room and has been itching to get their hands on a more powerful language, but wasn’t sure when to move up to JavaScript, April 4th will be the time. Jonathan will be rebooting the JavaScript curriculum, and providing a structured set of lessons to help those new to the room get up to speed. No special ticket is needed. JavaScript still remains a drop-in room and mentors will be available in that room for other projects.
Parent Study Group: Nodeschool
Just because we need to ensure enough bandwidth to support the launches of Jonathan’s reboot and Chris’ new workshop, we’ll wait until April 11th to start this. This is a parent-to-parent mentoring (with maybe a programmer volunteer for the thorny stuff) where you can work your way through this self-paced study program. No experience necessary, but you’ll need a laptop.
