TICKETS FOR JAN 23
Get your January 23rd CoderDojo tickets.
Sorry this is a few days late. In discussions on Saturday, Mentor Michael had a very interesting idea that we decided to try and for which we needed a couple more days to arrange things.
On the 23rd, we’ll be doing two separate Scratch rooms. One, led by Mentor Unmesh, will focus on more beginner topics and be suitable for kids just moving up from Code.org to Scratch or those who have been doing Scratch for a few months and are still working on getting good at it. The other will allow Mentor Michael to start exploring some more advanced topics and let the long-term Scratch students really stretch their programming muscles.
Please note this is an experiment and not the new normal. We’ll be very interested to get your reactions afterward.
If you signed up for the Python Workshop, your ticket is good until the end of February. You do not have to sign up for tickets for the 23rd.
Thank You So Much!
The recommended donation box on last week’s sign-ups grossed $150. After fees, that’s close to 2 months insurance. We try to run lean and are supremely lucky to have hosts like Amazon.com who provide such great facilities, but it’s donations like these that pay for insurance, stickers (both ninja kitten and “Hello, my name is”), and volunteer appreciation (a few times a year, we buy the volunteers lunch to thank them for their efforts).
We never charge for admission to anything. That’s part of the CoderDojo ethos. All funds come from donors and sponsors. So we really do appreciate it when you take a moment to help make this all possible by volunteering or donating. Thank you.
