Make a Desktop App with Java and Swing

Java is one of the most popular languages in the computing world, powering everything from financial applications to web site back-ends to Minecraft. Swing is a toolkit for building desktop apps with Java.

Join Mentor Unmesh Joshi in a 5-week exploration of how to build a desktop app with Java and Swing between October 24th and November 21st. This is an intermediate-level class for children already familiar with basic concepts like strings, loops, and functions, who want to learn more about Java’s object-oriented approach and applying it to building a simple app with a graphical user interface (GUI).

Mentor Unmesh is a professional developer who has been volunteering with Seattle CoderDojo for over six months and has not only mentored in multiple rooms, but recently joined a select club of mentors who have led our Scratch room.
