Java Desktop Apps with Mentor Unmesh

(classes meet Saturdays 10-noon)

Before selecting this ticket be aware that this is a 5 week committment and should be considered an intermediate room.

Java is one of the most popular languages in the computing, powering everything from financial applications to web site back-ends to Minecraft. Swing is a toolkit for building desktop apps with Java.
Join Mentor Unmesh Joshi in a 5-week exploration of how to build a desktop app with Java and Swing between October 24th and December 5th. This is an intermediate-level class for children already familiar with basic concepts like strings, loops, and functions, who want to learn more about Java’s object-oriented approach and applying it to building a simple app with a graphical user interface (GUI).
Mentor Unmesh is a professional developer who has been volunteering with Seattle CoderDojo for over six months and has not only mentored in multiple rooms, but recently joined a select club of mentors who have led our Scratch room.
