FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where is it, what time is it, where do I park?
Amazon Wainwright building (535 Terry Ave N.), 9:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, please review parking details on the ticketing page.
What do I need to bring?
A laptop or Chromebook per child, because we’re not offering loaners this day. We may need to exhaust our supply to provide properly configured machines for the hardware projects, so we want to set expectations properly.
If you have time, please install node.js on your laptop. We’ll be using JavaScript and the node.js runtime to program the hardware.
Lunch. This goes 5.5 hours and we’re not providing lunch, so you need to bring one. You can order a sandwich delivery from Jimmy John’s over on Westlake, but if you do, make sure to get on it early so you’re not waiting most of the lunch break for your food.
What projects will we do?
We’re still working out the final list. All projects that require more hardware than just a laptop will have a hardware kit at the table for the children to share.
Eastside 3D Printing Hackathon – July 23
The teens from 3c-youth, who taught our 3D workshop earlier this year, are having a 3D printing hackathon at Coding Dojo (not affiliated with CoderDojo) in Bellevue. It’s a two-day event where groups of older adolescents and teens will be given a problem and asked to design a 3D-printable solution to the problem.

Looking for a tech internship for your teen in 2017?
One question parents of teens ask us most is about summer internships for teens. Just got tipped about this program that does summer tech internships for teens. While it’s too late for this summer’s opportunities, SAVE it for next year. http://sparksip.org/.
